An Effective Method for Characterizing Worn Surface Topogrphy by Peak Structure Function

Abstract
In the process of wear, the linear wear loss and structure function of workpiece surface profilles were determined by means of relocation measuring. It is showed that peak structure function is more effective and accurate to characterize variations of worn surface topography even if the relocation measurement is not applied. The peak structure function is of the good practicability for lubricant and technology research.
