Abstract
A new small load testing machine for impact wear was designed and made. The work principle, structure and performance parameter of the testing machine were systematically introduced in this paper. TC4 titanium alloy were tested for thrice in variant eight impact cycles on this device. Results show that the pattern of impact scars were normal and had obvious surface character and accumulated damage character. The results exhibited good repeatability under the same test conditions and the maximal error was less than 6 percent. Service load was verified to be stable, and there is no phenomenon of over flowing or over temperature. The testing machine can meet the demand of impact wear test under small load.
