Abstract
Three hearths of GCrl5 bearing steels, in which the sulfur content is different, were smelted. The friction-wear tests were carried out under different conditions by Model MM-200, MPX-200 and Falex tester. The effect of sulfur content on tribological properties of GCr15 bearing steel was studied. The results shown that increasing sulfur content, the friction coefficient decreases, whereas the anti-seiziag property is improved. The test results based on metallurgical analysis, electron probe line scanning and electrolytic separation method indicated that sulfur presents in the form of compound in GCr15 bearing steel, and its action mechanism was primarily explored.
