Tribological Behavior of Polydicyclopentadiene : Dry Friction and oil Lubrication

  • PolydicycloPentadiene ( PDCPD ) was synthesized through reaction injection molding . The results showed that it possessed high toughness and rigidity. The tribological properties of PDCPD under both dry sliding and oil - lubricated conditions were studied using a MM-200friction and wear tester. And the results showed that wear of PDCPD was dominated by adhesive wear at low loads under dry sliding , however , at high load severe mechanical cutting and Plastic deformation appeared . The wear mode was similar to fatigue wear . Under oil-lubricated condition , wear of PDCPD was dominated by typical abrasive wear , and PDCPD presented excellent tribological propertie
