Abstract
The nitrogen-alloying hardfacing alloy was prepared by substituting partial carbon atoms with nitrogen atoms and adding elements niobium and titanium. The high temperature tribological tests of the hardfacing alloy was performed and the effect of carbonitride precipitates on the high temperature wear behaviour was studied. The results showed that a large number carbonitride homogeneously precipitated during high temperature wear. These fine carbonitride precipitate were complex carbonitride precipitate distributed in the martensitic matrix and at grain boundary. This had a great precipitation-hardening effect on the matrix. As a result, the hardness and the crack resistance of hardfacing alloy were enhanced, and the high temperature wear resistance was improved. The wear characteristic was shallow grooves by the abrasive particle of oxides and fragments.
