Abstract
The process of sliding friction coupling with deformation of SUS 304 austenitic stainless steel strip against DC 53 tool steel was simulated by the ANSYS/LS-DYNA FEM software in the present paper. The Implicit-Explicit Sequence Solution and the Standard Piecewise Linear material model were applied. The stress distribution in the strip under the condition of coupling friction with deformation was calculated. The influence of load, dropping distance of sliding block and sliding friction velocity on principle stress, shear stress and equivalent stress were analyzed. The results showed that the test parameters of sliding friction coupling with deformation significantly affected the stress distribution in the strip, testified the fact of friction-induced plastic deformation occurred as load stress was less than yield strength of the steel. This research is beneficial for guiding the study of friction-induced martensitic transformation behavior and the improvement of tribological properties of austenitic stainless steel.
