Wear Properties of NiCrBMoFe/BaF2·CaF2 Coating by High Velocity Arc Spraying

  • NiCrBMoFe and NiCrBMoFe/BaF2·CaF2 amorphous/nanocrystalline coatings were fabricated by high velocity arc spraying process. Both coatings were composed of amorphous phase and nanocrystalline phase. The friction and wear properties of the coatings were investigated. At room temperature, The coefficient of friction of the two coatings were 0.50 and 0.375. Room temperature friction and wear properties of NiCrBMoFe/BaF2·CaF2 coating was far superior to the substrate and NiCrBMoFe coating. At 450 ℃, BaF2·CaF2 riched layer on the coating surface was responsible to the low friction and wear.
