Abstract
The grey model analysis theory is a kind of new theory that can be used to analysis the random course. Its research and application in agriculture and automotive control field develop very quickly. In order to use the grey model analysis theory in tribology, the random properties of real contact area between rough surfaces are studied through optical measurements and numerical calculation. The results indicate that the study object on real contact area is not searching for its accurate solution but being concerned with its varied range and tendency.Based on the above, the grey model analysis of real contact area is presented in the first time to study the varied regulation of real contact area between two rough rollers with longitudinal vein on static and dynamic contact conditions. The results calculated through this theory had good conformable. This method introduces a new path to follow in the track of contact area dynamically.
