Abstract
Porous polyimide materials were sintered, and three different lubricating oils were used to infuse the porous structure to obtain oil-containing polyimides. The microstructure, oil-containing property and tribological property were investigated. It is found the interconnected "ink-bottle" pores were formed in porous polyimide materials with an average pore size of 1.6 μm and a porosity of 26%. The oil content of the oil-containing polyimide materials was related to the density of lubricating oil, and oil reservation changed with the variation of viscidity of lubricating oil. The friction coefficient of the three kinds of oil-containing polyimide materials was stable and lower than 0.1. For the polyimide materials containing M1 and M1001 oil, the friction coefficient rose as the rotating speed increased, while the friction coefficient of polyimide material containing P200 oil descended. Based on the results the model of film lubrication was proposed.
