Abstract
Ionic liquid/texturing diamond-like carbon composite lubrication films were successfully prepared on silicon substrates by a composite technology combining of laser texturing, magnetron sputtering and dip-coating. Textured diamond-like carbon surface were analyzed using non-contact interferometric microscope and scanning electron microscope. Presence of ionic liquid nano-film on textured diamond-like carbon surface was confirmed by using X-ray photoelectron spectrometer, and the tribological properties of the as-prepared composite lubrication films were mainly studied and analyzed theoretically under different applied loads by a micro-tester. The investigation reveals that ionic liquid/textured diamond-like carbon composite lubrication films could shorten running-in time and decrease friction coefficient under low loads, but possess poor tribological behaviors under high loads.
