Theory of Upper Stable Region of Sliding Bearing System with Elastic Support and Its Application

A model of the bearing system with elastic support was established by taking into account both the support damping and rotor external damping.The first and sccond stability limits were determined and the stable regions were identified.Thus new method to increase the system stability was presented,with which the rotor was set to operate in the upper stable region.The effectiveness of the method was illustrated with an application example.
