Abstract
An MG-200 friction and wear tester was performed to evaluate the friction and wear behavior of the worm pins made of ZQSn_(12-2) and ZZnAl_(27)Cu_2 sliding against the worm wheel made of 20CrMnTi and S16MnCr under unlubricated condition. The surface morphologies of the wear tracks of the worm pins were observed using a scanning electron microscope. The wear mechanisms of the frictional pairs were discussed as well. The results indicated that the worn pins were dominated by different wear mechanisms as they slid against different worm wheel specimens. At the same time, the frictional pair ZQSn_(12-2)-S16MnCr showed better antiwear ability than the other pairs and could finding promising application in worm drive.
