Abstract
Normal displacement of articular cartilage was measured under static load and in sliding, and friction coefficient was measured in sliding using UMT-2 Multi-Specimen Test System. Lubricant was bovine serum, normal loading stress was 0.8 MPa, and loading duration for tests lasted from 30 s to 60 min. Normal displacement between the bovine cartilages increased nonlinearly with loading time. Normal displacement in sliding influenced friction coefficient between bovine cartilages process, and sliding speeds played a less , friction coefficient at start-up was much higher than that in smooth sliding role on friction coefficient. The longer the loading time, the more the normal displacement, and the more the friction coefficient at start-up. Variation trends of friction coefficient at start-up to loading time was similar to that for normal displacement.
