Abstract
A laboratory study has been conducted on wear and corrosive wear behavior of AISI 304 and Cr Mn N duplex stainless steel in dry sliding and sliding in solution of H 2SO 4 plus Cl -(98 g/L H 2SO 4+2.0 g/L Cl - and 4.9 g/L H 2SO 4+2.0 g/L Cl -) with a reciprocating device. The removal rate of two steels, hardness of wear track, and relative wear resistance were measured. The wear track morphology and propagation of dislocation caused by deformation strengthening were observed with TEM.The results indicated that the deformation strengthening of Cr Mn N duplex stainless steel is stronger than that of 304 stainless steel, which improved both the wear resistance in dry sliding and the corrosive wear resistance. The deformation strengthening of alloys could be utilized to improve the corrosive wear resistance of the alloys.
