Lubricating Properties of Drawing Fluid

In this paper, the reason of wires breaking during the drawing process of steel cord was analyzed. The lubrication properties of two kinds of drawing fluids were investigated. The surface morphology, surface microstructure and surface composition of the friction pair were analyzed by three-dimensional surface topography, scanning electron microscope and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The lubrication mechanism of the two kinds of drawing fluids, as well as the influence on wire breaking and adhesion with rubber was discussed.
