Progress Research on the Tribology of MAX Phase Ceramics

  • Ternary layered Mn+1AXn phase ceramics (MAX phases) have many potential applications in tribology fields because of their excellent merits of metal and ceramic. This paper reviewed the recent progress on the tribological research of Mn+1AXn phase ceramics and their composites. The relative tribological mechanisms were concluded as well. Besides, the study trends of MAX phases tribology in future were proposed.
