Abstract
The wear experiment was carried out on the casting automobile covering part die steel with different quenching, tempering temperature and in different wear conditions. The relationship between wear rate and tempering temperature, friction parameters was investigated and microstructure and tribological properties of friction surface were observed . The wear resistance of the steel material can be affected by material parameters (material hardness, quenching and tempering temperature) and tribological parameters (load, sliding speed, sliding distance). Tempering temperature had a certain effect on the hardness and wear resistance of the die steel, and the highest hardness was obtained at 500 ℃. After tempering at 600 ℃, martensite and troostite were the main phases. Increasing tempering temperature significantly decreased the wear rate at higher sliding speed and lower tempering temperature. Under higher load and lower tempering temperature, wear rate declined significantly with the increase of tempering temperature. The wear mechanism of steel were mainly adhesion wear and abrasive wear.
