Slurry Erosion of Nickel Foam/Epoxy/SiC Co-Continuous Composite

  • A particle reinforced nickel foam/epoxy/SiC co-continuous composite was designed and prepared. Its slurry erosion behavior was investigated mainly based on its total volume loss under different impact angle. The test results indicate that the erosion resistance of three-phase nickel foam/epoxy/SiC co-continuous composite was higher than that of two-phase epoxy/SiC co-continuous composite. For the impact angle effect, different volume loss peaks appeared for composite with different pore diameter of nickel foam. Co-continuous composite with good erosion resistance can be achieved by optimizing the pore size and bulk density of the nickel foam.
