Abstract
Modified graphene oxide microcapsule lubricating microcapsules (MGO-MicroLMs) with MGO/PS as composite wall, butyl stearate as core was prepared by seeded micro-suspension polymerization. The MGOMicroLMs/ PS composite was prepared according to the bulk casting method adopting MGO-MicroLMs as lubricating additive. The chemical composition and microstructure were characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Fracture behavior and tribological properties of the composites were evaluated by microcomputer controlled electronic universal testing machine and high speed reciprocating friction and wear tester. The results indicate that MGO-MicroLMs had good dispersion and compatibility in polystyrene matrix and had a significant toughening effect for polystyrene matrix material. MGO-MicroPCMs significantly improved friction and wear properties of the polystyrene matrix material. The lubrication mechanism of MGO-MicroLMs was the boundary lubrication.
