Abstract
Mo2C modified C/C-Cu composites were fabricated by infiltrating Cu into Mo2C modified C/C performs. Tribological properties of the composites were tested and the effect of electrical current on tribological properties was studied. The results indicate that the friction coefficient first increased then decreased and reached the minimum value at 5 A with the electrical current increased from 0 to 15 A. Volume wear rate of C/C-Cu composite increased gradually with the increase of current. The wear loss of the counterpart was low in the range of 0~7.5 A and then it increased as current increased. Wear mechanism was mainly abrasive wear under low current. Degree of oxidative wear increased with the increase of current and obvious arc erosion appeared at a current of 15 A.
