Friction-Reducing Performances of TiO2 Film Prepared by Sol-Gel Method at Lower Temperature

Abstract
The TiO2 film on copper was prepared by using sol-gel technology and hydrothermal treatment. Scanning electron microcopy and X-ray diffraction were used to characterize surface morphology and crystal structure of TiO2 film. The corrosion resistance and its friction-reducing performance of TiO2 film were evaluated by polarization curve and friction and wear testing machine, respectively. As comparing to TiO2 film after conventional calcination at 480 ℃, TiO2 film after hydrothermally treatment at 170 ℃ showed different surface morphology and crystal structure, lower friction with extended life and better corrosion-resistance.
