Application of Modern Analysis Methods in the Study of Organic Friction Materials

  • The analysis characteristics of thermogravimetric analyzer, dynamic mechanical analyzer, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, Raman spectrometer, nuclear magnetic resonance, polarizing microscope, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope and focused ion beam were outlined. Their applications in the thermal properties, structure analysis, micromorphology observation, tribochemistry of organic friction materials and brake wear particle emissions were reviewed. It is hoped to inspire the manifold applications of various modern analysis methods in the tribological studies of friction materials in China.
