Tribological Behaviors of MoS2/SiCH Film Composite Lubrication System

  • The tribological properties of MoS2/SiCH composite system were investigated in vacuum environment, and the friction/wear mechanisms were also discussed. The results show that the MoS2/SiCH composite system exhibited better tribological performances because the characteristic columnar microstructure of sputtered MoS2 film could adsorb SiCH oil under the composite lubrication condition. The MoS2/SiCH composite system exhibited a good synergistic effect as only the disk was coated with the MoS2 film. In this case, the wear life was 1.86×106 cycles, which was ~1.2 and 4.0 times longer than those at separate SiCH oil and MoS2 film lubrication conditions.
