Abstract:
Wear properties of alumina strengthen yttria stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal(Y-TZP) ceramic(ADZ) under different loads were investigated using a block-on-block tribometer.The results show that wear rate is,however,non-linearly increased with increasing of load and sliding time.Under low load of 62 N the main mechanism governing wear properties of ADZ ceramic is apparent plastic deformation and ploughing,wear loss is controlled by plastic deformation,micro-cutting,and micro-rupture under 124 N;and wear rate rapidly increases and wear mechanism changes into brittle fracture under high load of 310 N.
