Abstract:
A literature survey on the progress of theoretical analysis and experimental investigation of friction induced noise is briefed. Although some progress has been made in this field, specially with respect to a dynamic analysis of frictional squeal in brake systems, little attention has been paid to revealing the effect of frictional interface topography on friction induced noise. It is suggested that further study on friction induced noise be carried out by combining the inter disciplines including tribology and dynamics, so as to acquire better understanding of the formation mechanism of friction induced noise and to get rid of it.
