Abstract:
The metal matrix wear-resistant cast surface composites are a kinds of new materialswhich are fabricated by compounding the ceramic particles or fibers,which have the high hardnessand the good antiwear property, onto the surface layers of the metals so as to use under the variouswear working conditions. The fabricating techniques,properties and affecting factors werecomprehensive introduced and reviewed in this paper.It is indicated that though the study onfabricating techniques of the composites,especially the publications about the investigation of thefriction properties and affecting factors are still very few,but some achievements have beenobtained.This provides a better basis for their further development. For the latter rescarch works ofthis kinds of materials,a uthors considered that the main directions of attack include the studies onthe technique and interface theories,the studies on the solidification processing,the study on thewear law and its mechanisms under the various working conditions and the application inengineering.
