Abstract:
Metallurgical bonding and compact alloy layers were prepared by laser cladding C
o-based alloy powders on DZ125 superalloy. The microstructure of the laser cladded coating was investigated by using optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and sectional microhardness was measured on a HV-1000 microhardness tester. The erosive resistance of the coating was investigated. The results indicated good metallurgical bonding between coating and substrate. Rapid directional solidification was found at the interface where the growth direction was perpendicular to the interface. The erosive resistance of the coatings depended on impact angles, and hardness was one of factors afffecting the erosion rate of material.
