Abstract:
Ni-P-MoS
2 and Ni-P-CaF
2 composite coatings were deposited on AISI-1045 steel plate by electroless plating. Tribological performances of composite coatings heat treated at 300℃ for 2 h were investigated using a pin-on-disk configuration using Ni-P coating as reference. The influence of testing temperature on the friction and wear behaviors of coatings was discussed and wear mechanisms were analyzed at elevated temperatures. The results indicate that tribological performances of Ni-P-MoS
2 and Ni-P-CaF
2 composite coatings were superior to that of Ni-P coating with the increase of temperature from room temperature to 500℃. The tribological characteristic Ni-P-MoS
2 composite was better than that of Ni-P coating. A dense oxide film formed at the high temperature on the surface of Ni-P-MoS
2 composite coating decreased friction.
